Grok Investigation: UK Authority Probes Lewd Images on X Chatbot

The UK's internet safety regulator, Ofcom, has launched a formal investigation into the X platform regarding sexually explicit images generated by Grok, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence chatbot.

Concerning reports cite the use of Grok AI to create images of nude individuals and sexually suggestive images of children, which may constitute public indecency or child pornography.

The British government had called on X to urgently find a solution to prevent the spread of fake images of nude women. Liz Kendall, the Technology Secretary, described the content as "outrageous and unacceptable."

The European Commission has also imposed conservative measures and ordered the X platform to retain all relevant documents and data until the end of 2026. The Commission had imposed a fine of 120 million euros on X for violating the Digital Services Act (DSA).
