Google has delayed the release of the first beta version of Android 17, which was originally scheduled for February 12, 2026. The company announced that the release will be available 'soon,' without specifying the exact date or reasons for the delay.

The upcoming update will include improvements for customizable applications, upgrades to camera and multimedia capabilities, and new tools for optimizing connectivity. In addition, there will be improved audio controls for normalizing volume across all applications and support for Versatile Video Coding (VVC).

Android 17 Beta 1 will also include performance, privacy, security, and connectivity improvements, as well as new proximity detection features via Wi-Fi Ranging.
