Meta Launches Smart Glasses with Display and AI

Meta Platforms has unveiled its new 'smart' glasses with a built-in display, expanding the Ray-Ban line. The presentation was made by CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the annual Connect event.

The new Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses feature a small digital screen on the right lens and will cost $799, available in the US from September 30. They include a wristband for control.

Additionally, a new pair of Oakley Vanguard glasses for athletes was announced, priced at $499, with integration into fitness platforms such as Garmin and Strava.

Meta aims to catch up in the field of artificial intelligence, as it faces regulatory scrutiny regarding the safety of children on its platforms.
