Musk Accuses Apple of Burying His Chatbot Grok in App Store
Share on:

Elon Musk accuses Apple of anti-competitive behavior, claiming the company is blocking the visibility of his chatbot Grok in the App Store. Musk suggests Apple favors OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT.

Musk claims Apple makes it impossible for any AI application other than OpenAI's to rank highly in the App Store, threatening legal action. He questioned why the X app and Grok do not appear in the 'Must Have' section, while ChatGPT is at the top of the free apps list.

Musk's accusations come amid a period of strict regulatory scrutiny of Apple, including court decisions in the US and a fine from the EU for violating the Digital Markets Act.

This is not the first time Musk has clashed with Apple, as in 2022 he denounced the App Store's 30% commission. Details of xAI's legal strategy are not yet available.
