Microsoft to Discontinue Lens PDF Scanner App

Microsoft has announced that the Lens PDF scanner application, used by millions of users, will be phased out.

The phase-out will begin in mid-September 2025, at which point the ability to install it from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store will be disabled. The application will disappear from both digital stores by mid-November.

Users will not be able to create new scans after December 15. Existing scans will remain visible in the MyScans folder.

This decision is part of Microsoft's strategy to promote the Microsoft 365 Copilot application, which offers many of the basic features of Lens.
