Greece on Your Terms: Hotel, Rental, or All-Inclusive?
Share on:

As the Greek summer peaks, choosing the ideal type of accommodation remains a key question. Hotel, Airbnb, or all-inclusive resort? The answer depends on the traveler's preferences, needs, and budget.

Hotels, ranging from small inns to large resorts, offer structured comfort with services like housekeeping and buffet breakfasts. Short-term rentals, however, have increased significantly, reaching 213,000 listings in 2025, rivaling hotels in bed numbers and attracting younger, independent travelers seeking privacy and flexibility.

Regarding cost, the price difference between hotels and rentals has narrowed. In popular destinations, the average nightly rate exceeds 190 euros, while hotels with breakfast typically range from 120 to 160 euros per night, with potential seasonal deals.

All-inclusive packages, which include accommodation, meals, drinks, and sometimes spa treatments and organized excursions, cater to travelers seeking convenience and minimal travel planning. In 2025, the Greek all-inclusive market is projected to reach 900 million euros.

The choice of accommodation type depends on the individual traveler's needs and preferences. A comfortable hotel with breakfast might be ideal for a solo traveler, a rental apartment for a group of friends, and an all-inclusive resort for a family with children.
