China: Mountains Cut in Half for World's Tallest Bridge

In Guizhou province, China, the world's tallest bridge, the Huajiang Canyon Bridge, is under construction. Engineers are cutting mountains in half to create the Guizhou Luan Expressway, which will lead to the bridge.
The Huajiang Canyon Bridge, with a length of 2,889 meters and a height of 625 meters above the canyon, is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It will connect isolated villages with urban centers, reducing travel time.
The construction involves leveling mountains instead of creating tunnels, turning a 70-minute journey into just 1 minute. The bridge is expected to become a tourist attraction, with plans for glass walkways and extreme sports.
Guizhou province is known as the 'museum of high bridges' due to its concentration of impressive structures.
