New research by IWG reveals the top cities for remote work, with Tokyo taking first place. Hybrid work and cloud technology allow employees to work from anywhere, increasing productivity and improving work-life balance.

Athens is emerging as an attractive destination for digital nomads, ranking 12th in the IWG ranking. 78% of employees consider the 'work from anywhere' policy an important factor when choosing a job.

Tokyo stood out for its excellent broadband speeds, transport infrastructure, security, and the new digital nomad visa. Rio de Janeiro is in second place, followed by Budapest in third.

New cities such as Seoul, Rome, Cairo, and Melbourne have been added to the 2025 list. Cities were evaluated based on criteria such as climate, broadband connectivity, availability of flexible workspaces, and access to beaches and mountains.

The research shows that access to nature is an important factor for hybrid workers, with 75% considering it important.
