Ahead of the summer holidays, the European Consumer Centre provides information on your rights as a traveler.

Air Passenger Rights: In case of long delays, denied boarding, or flight cancellation, you may be entitled to compensation, unless there were extraordinary circumstances. Passengers are entitled to assistance (meals, drinks, communication, accommodation) and financial compensation (€250-€600 depending on the distance).

Damage to Luggage: The Montreal Convention ensures compensation from the air carrier, except for defects in the luggage itself. A statement must be submitted within 7 days for damage, or 21 days for delayed/lost luggage.

Car Rental: Carefully check the terms, charges, and condition of the vehicle. A valid driver's license is required. Return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel.

Hotel Bookings: You are entitled to services that match the description. Read the cancellation policy carefully. There is no right of withdrawal for bookings with a specific date. Cancellation fees may apply.
