Time Out 2025: The World's Coolest Neighborhoods

Time Out has released its list of the world's coolest neighborhoods for 2025, with Jimbōchō in Tokyo taking first place. The ranking is based on criteria such as culture, community, sustainability, and food.

Jimbōchō stands out for its 130 antiquarian bookstores, cafes, and curry restaurants. In second place is Borgerhout in Antwerp, known for its galleries and gastronomic spots, while Barra Funda in São Paulo completes the top three.

Camberwell in London took fourth place, while Avondale in Chicago took fifth. The list includes a total of 39 neighborhoods from around the world. Athens is not included in the list.

Grace Beard, travel editor at Time Out, emphasized that neighborhoods are shaped by local communities and the list rewards places loved by locals.
