Japan: Spectacular Fireball Lights Up the Sky

A spectacular fireball lit up the sky in western Japan, surprising residents. Experts confirmed it was a natural phenomenon, dismissing rumors of an alien invasion.
The phenomenon, an extremely bright sphere of light, was visible over a radius of hundreds of kilometers, shortly after 11:00 PM local time on Tuesday. Yoshihiko Hamahata, a driver in Miyazaki Prefecture, described the light as "a white light I had never seen before," so intense that it illuminated the houses around him.
Toshihisa Maeda, director of a space museum, stated that it was an extremely bright meteor that likely fell into the Pacific Ocean. Witnesses reported feeling the air vibrate, while the object's glow was "as bright as the Moon."
According to NASA, objects that create fireballs can exceed one meter in size.
