Morocco: Two Dead in Attack on Gendarmerie Station

Two people were killed by security forces in southern Morocco when protesters attempted to storm a gendarmerie station in the city of Elkilia, near Agadir, according to the Moroccan news agency (MAP).
The incident occurred amid a wave of violence linked to protests demanding increased funding for education and health. Local authorities reported that the gendarmes were forced to use their weapons in "legitimate defense" to prevent the intrusion.
After an initial failed attempt, a group of young people attacked the station again, setting fire to a vehicle and part of the building, attempting to seize "ammunition, equipment and weapons."
Recent mobilizations have led to riots, looting, and arrests in various cities in Morocco.
