Dozens of Bags Containing Human Remains Found in Mexico

Mexican authorities announced on Thursday the discovery of 48 bags containing human remains in a clandestine location near Guadalajara.
The investigation is ongoing, with the prosecutor's office refraining from estimating the number of victims. Blanca Trujillo, a state prosecutor, stated that forensic examination is required for accurate identification.
The clandestine grave was discovered four weeks ago by a collective searching for missing persons on a plot of land in Zapopan, a suburb of Guadalajara. Authorities are collaborating with the Guerreros Buscadores group to recover and identify the remains.
The case adds to numerous similar incidents in the state of Jalisco, where the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) operates, which has been designated as a 'foreign terrorist organization' by the US.
In Mexico, over 127,000 disappearances have been recorded, mainly after 2006, when the 'war' against drug cartels began.
In June, the remains of 34 people found in Zapopan were identified. In Jalisco, over 15,900 people have disappeared.
