Mexico: Tanker Explosion in Capital – At Least 3 Dead, 70 Injured

A tanker explosion in Mexico City on Wednesday resulted in the death of at least 3 people and injuries to 70. The incident occurred in Iztapalapa, a densely populated area.
The tanker, carrying approximately 50,000 liters of gas, reportedly overturned at an interchange, according to Mayor Clara Brugada. The explosion damaged at least 18 vehicles.
Images from the scene showed massive flames and people fleeing in terror. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals with burns.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. The incident recalls the pipeline explosion in Tlahuelilpan in 2019, where 137 people died.
