Sydney: Attack on Hanukkah Event – 16 Dead

At least 16 people have been killed and many injured in an attack on a Hanukkah event in Sydney, Australia. Authorities are calling the attack a terrorist act with anti-Semitic motives.
The incident occurred at Bondi Beach, where two gunmen opened fire on the crowd for approximately 10 minutes. Among the victims are two children aged 10 and 12, and four children are hospitalized. One perpetrator was killed, and the other is hospitalized.
Police are investigating the possibility of a third perpetrator. The Premier of New South Wales, Chris Minns, described the attack as targeted against Sydney's Jewish community.
An eyewitness, Ahmed al-Ahmed, has been hailed as a hero after he rushed and grabbed the weapon from one of the attackers. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the attack and convened a meeting of the National Security Council.
The attack is one of the worst anti-Semitic attacks in Australia since the start of the Israel-Gaza war.
