Taiwan: Strong Earthquake of Magnitude 6.2

An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale struck 128 kilometers off the northeastern coast of Taiwan on Thursday, according to the island's Central Meteorological Administration.

The earthquake shook some buildings in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, and had a focal depth of 88.1 kilometers. There are no immediate reports of damage.
