Ivory Coast: At Least 16 Dead in Bus Collision

At least 16 people were killed and 51 injured in a collision between a bus and a garbage truck in Ivory Coast. The accident occurred near Katiola, on the Katiola-Niakara axis, according to the Ministry of Transport.

The bus was traveling between cities in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso. The injured were taken to a hospital. Traffic accidents are frequent in Ivory Coast due to poor road and vehicle conditions.

Every year, 1,000 to 1,500 people lose their lives on the country's roads.
