Albania: Arrest Warrants Issued for Toxic Waste Trafficking

Albanian authorities have issued arrest warrants for 33 suspects involved in trafficking toxic waste, according to a prosecutor's office spokesperson in Durrës.

The operation is underway following analyses by an Italian laboratory confirming the toxicity of the waste. The waste left Albania in July 2024, destined for Thailand, in over 100 containers. Thai authorities denied entry, and the waste was returned to Albania.
