Argentina: Man Accused of Killing and Dismembering Five People

Argentine justice has filed criminal charges against a 37-year-old man for the murder and dismemberment of at least five people in his home. The suspect faces charges of repeated “homicides” with “aggravating circumstances,” as he demonstrated “particular cruelty,” and has been remanded in custody.
The investigation focused on the alleged perpetrator's home, where “bones, blood, pieces of skin” and even “a human nose” were found, according to the Attorney General in Jujuy, Sergio Lello Sanchez. A 16-year-old, presented as the owner's nephew, testified that his uncle offered people work and invited them to his home, where he beat, killed, dismembered, and burned them.
The victims were “marginalized people, homeless, wandering the streets” and mostly elderly. The investigation is ongoing, with analysis of the remains and collection of biological material from relatives of missing persons for DNA comparisons.
