A 24-year-old Algerian man survived clinging to a high-speed train in Austria after missing his boarding at Sankt Pölten station.

According to The Guardian, the man had gone out for a cigarette, and when the train departed, he clung between two carriages. Eyewitnesses reported that he was banging on the windows to attract attention.

The train driver activated the emergency brake, and the train stopped. The man was arrested at Meidling station in Vienna. The train was traveling from Zurich to Vienna, with a maximum speed of 230 km/h.

Austrian Railways spokesperson Herbert Hofer called the act "irresponsible," emphasizing the dangers involved in such an action.
