The Director-General of the BBC, Tim Davie, and Chief Executive, Deborah Turness, have resigned following criticism over the editing of a Donald Trump speech in a BBC Panorama documentary.

The documentary allegedly misled viewers by combining parts of Trump's speech from January 6, 2021, to make it appear he encouraged the Capitol riots.

Samir Shah, Chairman of the BBC, called the day a "sad day" for the organization, praising Davie for his dedication.

The criticism followed claims of a lack of political neutrality in BBC reporting, including coverage of Trump, the Israel-Hamas war, and issues concerning transgender people.
