EU: Avoid Iranian Airspace

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has urged European airlines to avoid flying through Iranian airspace. The warning was issued on Friday, January 16.
EASA stated that the presence and potential use of a wide range of weapons and anti-aircraft defense systems pose a high risk to civil flights. EASA advises all airlines not to operate flights within Iranian airspace, specifically the Tehran FIR.
Due to ongoing tensions and the potential for military action by the United States, Iranian air defense forces have been placed on alert, increasing the risk of misidentification within Iranian airspace, EASA added.
