Greece Ablaze Again: Fires in Preveza, Zakynthos, Achaia, and Chios

Fires are raging for the second day in various regions of Greece. The largest fronts are located in Western Greece, specifically in Achaia, Preveza, and Zakynthos.
The fire in northwestern Chios, which has been burning since yesterday, is also ongoing. In Achaia, a message from 112 was sent to the residents of the Romanos area, in the Municipality of Patras, in order to evacuate to Patras.
In Zakynthos, a warning message from 112 was sent to the residents of the Mouzaki, Romiri, Pantokratoras, and Lagopodo areas, calling on them to evacuate to the city of Zakynthos.
In addition, a fire broke out in low vegetation in the Kapeleto area of Ilia. In Chios, the fire continues to burn forest and low vegetation in the northwestern part of the island, with the fire brigade focusing on two fronts. A message was sent to evacuate Spartounta to Kardamyla due to strong winds.
In Preveza, a message was sent from 112 to evacuate four settlements: Kleisoura, Drymona, ‘Ano Drymona and Vathy, towards Ioannina. The municipality of Ziros in Preveza has been declared in a state of emergency. The situation remains difficult in the Filippiada area, and a message was also sent to Gymnotopos to evacuate residents to Filippiada.
Due to strong winds in Epirus, problems were created in landing planes at Ioannina airport.
