Emergency European Council Summit on Greenland
European Council President António Costa is convening an emergency European Council summit in the coming days, against the backdrop of tensions concerning Greenland.
According to Costa, the EU remains united on the fundamental principles of international law, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty, while expressing its solidarity with Denmark and Greenland.
Furthermore, member states agree that the imposition of tariffs would seriously harm transatlantic relations. The EU declares itself ready to protect itself against any form of coercion, but remains open to constructive dialogue with Washington.
According to Politico, the summit is scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd.
