EMY Issues Severe Weather Warning: 112 Alert for Ten Regions

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued a severe weather warning, upgrading a previous alert. Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in the Ionian Islands and areas of western Greece and the Peloponnese.

According to the warning, the intense weather phenomena will last from late Saturday night (27/09/2025) until Sunday night (28/09/2025). The affected areas are the Ionian Islands (Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Lefkada), Aetolia-Acarnania, the western Peloponnese (Achaia, Ilia, Messinia) and the southern regions of Epirus (Arta, Preveza).

The 112 emergency number was activated, sending a warning message to ten regions, urging residents to be careful and follow the instructions of the authorities. There is a risk of flooding.
