Weather Alert: Storms and Strong Winds Starting Thursday

Meteorologists are warning of a rapid change in weather starting Thursday, with storms, strong winds, and possible hail. There is an increased risk of flooding.

Today: Sunshine with possible local showers in Macedonia. Temperatures will reach 35-36 degrees Celsius in eastern mainland Greece and 30-32 degrees Celsius in the Ionian and Cyclades islands. In Attica, sunshine with local clouds and temperatures up to 35°C. In Thessaloniki, good weather with few clouds and temperatures up to 34°C.

Thursday: Local rain and thunderstorms mainly in central and northern Greece. Winds will blow at 4 to 6 Beaufort and temperatures will drop.

Friday: Local rain and isolated thunderstorms in the mainland and the N-NW Aegean. Winds in the Aegean will reach 7 Beaufort.

Weekend: Limited instability in mainland Greece. North winds with intensity 6 to 7 Beaufort in the east and a slight rise in temperature.

Klearchos Marousakis warned of instability with showers, rain and northerly winds after the heatwave.
