Urgent: Red Alert Issued for Worsening Weather Conditions by Hellenic National Meteorological Service

The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) has issued a red alert for worsening weather conditions across Greece. According to the updated bulletin, strong rains and thunderstorms are expected in many areas, accompanied by strong winds and possible hail.

Areas under red alert: Thessaly, Pieria, Imathia, Halkidiki, Eastern Aegean.

Areas under orange alert: Peloponnese, Ionian Islands, Crete, Western Sterea, remaining areas of Central Macedonia, Eastern Sterea (including Attica), Evia, Dodecanese.

Snowfall is expected in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of the mainland, as well as in low-altitude areas of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms are forecast for Crete, the Eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese tomorrow, Monday (02-02-26).
