Switzerland: Compensation for Victims of the Crans-Montana Fire

The Swiss Parliament has approved compensation for the victims of the deadly fire that occurred in a bar in Crans-Montana on New Year's Eve.
The compensation amounts to €55,000 per case and will be given to the families of the victims and the injured who were hospitalized.
The fire at the Le Constellation bar caused the death of 41 people and injured 115. According to the prosecutor's office, sparkler candles caused the ignition of soundproofing material.
In parallel, a criminal investigation has been ordered against the mayor of Crans-Montana, Nicolas Féraud, and other officials for the case of the fire due to negligence.
