Tensions in the Baltic: German Eurofighters Intercept Russian Aircraft

The German Air Force intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea on Monday.
Two Eurofighter jets were scrambled and identified the Russian IL-20M aircraft in international airspace. The German aircraft then escorted the Russian aircraft and handed it over to NATO units operating from Sweden.
According to a Luftwaffe statement, the aircraft was flying without a flight plan and without radio communication.
Meanwhile, the North Atlantic Council is expected to meet on Tuesday to discuss the recent violation of Estonian airspace by Russian MiG-31s on Friday.
