Pope Leo XIV Receives Rock Star Welcome in Rome

Over 800,000 young people gathered in the eastern outskirts of Rome for the Jubilee of Youth vigil, enthusiastically welcoming Pope Leo XIV. The first American pontiff arrived by helicopter, greeting the crowds from the papal vehicle.
The atmosphere was moving, with the Pope addressing the youth, urging them to aim for holiness. Sunday's mass culminated the week-long pilgrimage, a key event of the Catholic Church's Holy Year.
The event, dubbed the "Catholic Woodstock," included music, prayer, and discussions. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni delivered a welcome message.
Security was tight, with thousands of volunteers and police ensuring the smooth running of the event.
