Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is visiting the Metropolis of Sweden and all Scandinavia. This marks the Patriarch's third visit to Sweden during the tenure of Metropolitan Kleopas, following visits in 2017 and 2019.

Bartholomew will participate in events organized by the Christian Council of Sweden and the Lutheran Church for "Ecumenical Week," where he will be a speaker at three central events. He will also meet with representatives of the Swedish political leadership and other Christian denominations.

On Sunday, August 24, he will perform the opening ceremony of the Cathedral of St. George in Stockholm, following the completion of restoration work, and will preside over the divine liturgy.

The Patriarch was received at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm by Metropolitan Kleopas of Sweden, the head of the Church of Sweden, Martin Modéus, the Greek Ambassador Aikaterini Fountoulaki, a representative of the Turkish Embassy, and a representative of the Swedish government.
