Meltemi Winds Return: A Breath of Fresh Air from Wednesday

The meltemi winds are returning, offering a breath of fresh air starting Wednesday. The winds will gradually strengthen, reaching 6-7 Beaufort in the central and southern Aegean. From Thursday to Sunday, gusts in areas such as the Cyclades, Karpathos, and the southeastern Aegean may reach 8 Beaufort.
According to meteorologist Theodoros Kolydas, the impact on shipping and travel is not expected to be significant. During the night, the intensity of the winds will subside, reducing wave action and improving conditions for coastal connections.
In the rest of the country, generally clear weather is expected, with possible local rains or isolated thunderstorms in the Ionian Islands from late afternoon. The temperature will drop slightly in most areas, reaching 32 to 34 degrees Celsius.
In Macedonia, a few clouds are forecast, temporarily increasing with local rains and sporadic thunderstorms, mainly in western and central Macedonia. In Thrace, generally clear weather with temporary clouds in the afternoon.
