Deadly Heatwave in Southern Italy: Six Fatalities

Six people have died in Southern Italy due to a severe heatwave named 'Camel', according to authorities.
The victims were beachgoers in the Salento area of Apulia, south of Bari. Today, a 60-year-old man and an 81-year-old man died of cardiac arrest on the beach.
In the last four days, a 19-year-old Austrian tourist, two men aged 71 and 66, and a 60-year-old Italian woman also died of cardiac arrest. Doctors attribute the deaths to high temperatures, which exceeded 43 degrees Celsius.
The heatwave is expected to subside from Thursday night, but temperatures in some areas of southern Italy will remain higher than average.
