Aircraft Engine Fire After Takeoff from Corfu – 250 Passengers

An engine of an aircraft that took off from Corfu en route to Düsseldorf caught fire, carrying 250 passengers. The plane landed safely in Brindisi, Italy.
The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m., when the right engine of the Condor B757-300 aircraft began to ignite at an altitude of approximately 1,500 feet. The pilots shut down the engine.
Citizens reported hearing a loud noise over the port of Corfu. The aircraft initially recycled and then headed to Brindisi.
