France: Reactions to Bayrou's Holiday Comment

French Prime Minister François Bayrou's statement that he did not consult with the opposition in August due to summer holidays has sparked reactions from political parties.
Bayrou announced that he would seek a vote of confidence on September 8 to overcome the deadlock in the 2026 budget. When asked why he had not invited opposition leaders earlier, he replied that they were on holiday.
Marine Le Pen responded via platform X that she "doesn't like lies," while Marine Tondelier of the Greens stated she was "shocked" as her party was working and not on vacation. Manuel Bompard sarcastically commented that Bayrou himself would soon be on vacation.
Bayrou insisted on his view, saying that the French know that summer holidays are normal.
