France: Police Shoot and Kill 26-Year-Old in Corsica

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed by police in Corsica, France, after allegedly threatening passersby with a knife. The incident occurred in Ajaccio.
Prosecutor Nicolas Septe stated that an investigation is underway for intentional homicide against the police officer who fired the shots, as well as an investigation for attempted homicide against the victim.
The 26-year-old, of Senegalese origin, was shot and succumbed to his injuries. The prosecutor ruled out a terrorist act, as the man had not made any related threats.
Police initially attempted to use a Taser gun but failed. Subsequently, a police officer shot him.
Videos circulating on social media show the man moving on Rue Napoleon, while police officers follow him with weapons.
