France: Protests on September 10 – "Let's Block Everything"

France is expected to experience protests on September 10 under the slogan "Let's Block Everything" (Bloquons tout), reminiscent of the "Yellow Vests" movement. The government of Prime Minister François Bayrou is in political uncertainty just eight months after its formation.

Bayrou stated that he would seek a vote of confidence on September 8, trying to secure support for his plan to reduce spending. The "Bloquons tout" movement, supported by the Left, has called for a nationwide strike on September 10.

In an interview with TF1, François Bayrou defended his decision, stating that he is ready to discuss all issues except the fiscal effort to address the debt. President Emmanuel Macron expressed his full support for Bayrou.

France's public debt amounts to 114% of its GDP. Finance Minister Éric Lombard assured that France is not threatened by intervention from the IMF or the ECB.
