French Alps: Fire at Luxury Hotel des Grandes Alpes

A fire broke out at a five-star hotel in Courchevel, French Alps, late Tuesday night. Approximately 270 people were evacuated as a precaution.
The fire started around 7 p.m. (local time, 20:00 Cyprus time) in the attic of the Hotel des Grandes Alpes. No injuries were reported. Initially, 100 people were evacuated, but the number increased as the fire spread to a neighboring building.
Staff and residents were transferred to other hotels. Local authorities reported that the evacuation took place calmly.
