Gavdos: Boat with 65 Migrants Found - Two Dead in Rhodes

A boat carrying 65 illegal migrants was discovered in the sea area of Gavdos. This incident follows a major rescue operation in Rhodes, where, tragically, two people were found dead.

According to reports, the inflatable boat carrying the migrants to Gavdos was taken to the port of Karave, where the migrants disembarked safely. Meanwhile, in Rhodes, a man and a possibly underage person were found dead on Mavros Kavos beach, victims of a failed attempt to reach Greece.

Additionally, authorities arrested four smugglers in the Evros and Xanthi regions for various cases of migrant smuggling.

Specifically, smugglers were arrested near settlements in Evros and Xanthi, who were illegally transporting migrants inland by car. Police operations are ongoing to prevent illegal arrivals.

In Rhodes, an additional 38 foreigners were located by the Hellenic Police in the Gennadi area.
