KEDE Visits the Patriarchate of Alexandria for Cooperation

A delegation from the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) visited the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa. The visit took place in the context of the co-organization with KEDE of the painting exhibition of the artist Varlamis, which is hosted in the Library of Alexandria in Egypt.
The delegation, headed by the 2nd Vice President of KEDE and Mayor of Agrinio, Mr. Georgios Papanastasiou, was received by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II. They discussed cooperation issues and the role of Local Government in strengthening social, educational and humanitarian initiatives in Africa.
The importance of the timeless presence of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the need to strengthen ties between Greek municipalities and Greek communities in Africa were emphasized. KEDE expressed its willingness to contribute to the promotion of actions that strengthen the social contribution of Hellenism abroad.
