The Corner Shop queer choir from Augsburg became an unexpected bulwark against the hate speech of Alice Weidel of the AfD, disrupting her television interview in Berlin with an anti-fascist song.

The choir, unknowingly, participated in a protest organized by the Center for Political Beauty (Zentrum für Politische Schönheit). Their satirical piece "Scheiß AfD" (Shitty AfD), originally written as a protest against the far-right party, was played at maximum volume, overshadowing the interview.

Alice Weidel was forced to admit that she had difficulty hearing the journalist due to the noise. Despite Weidel's accusations of state funding for the choir, the public broadcaster ARD refused to repeat the interview.

The choir, which describes itself as feminist and friendly to "Flinta" individuals, has gained a reputation as an activist choir. Following the incident, the song went viral, reaching No. 6 on the German iTunes charts and garnering thousands of listens on Spotify.

However, the choir has received threats and abusive comments on social media, with critics accusing it of silencing a large segment of German voters.
