Christian Brueckner to Wear Ankle Monitor Ahead of Possible Release

German prosecutors have requested that Christian Brueckner, the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, wear an electronic ankle monitor ahead of his possible release on September 17.
Brueckner, who is serving a seven-year sentence for other offenses, including rape, could be released early after his fines were paid by a former police officer.
Prosecutors fear he will flee the country, hindering investigations into Madeleine's disappearance. Upon release, he must wear an ankle monitor, declare a permanent address, and not leave Germany without permission.
Brueckner denies any involvement in the Madeleine McCann case. Two buried weapons were found near his former residence in June.
