Spain: Three Missing After Torrential Rains

Three people are missing in Spain after torrential rains hit the Malaga and Granada regions over the weekend. Civil Protection has issued a red alert for the Murcia region, urging residents to take precautionary measures.
The heavy rainfall caused flooding in several villages, with emergency services working to clear the roads. According to Civil Protection, two of the missing persons were located near Malaga and the third near Granada.
Antonio Sanz Cabello, head of emergency management operations for the regional government of Andalusia, reported that 339 incidents have been recorded due to the rainfall, mainly in the province of Malaga. The Spanish national meteorological agency (Aemet) lowered the alert level from red to orange.
Spain is still dealing with the aftermath of the major floods of October 2024, which caused more than 230 deaths, mainly in the Valencia region.
