A tower collapsed at Castillo de Escalona in Toledo, Spain, causing panic among tourists. The incident occurred on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. when one of the castle's towers collapsed, raising clouds of dust.

Visitors waiting to enter the castle managed to evacuate in time, thanks to warnings from bystanders. Five parked cars were damaged by the debris.

Mayor Álvaro Gutiérrez expressed his sorrow, while authorities cordoned off the area and canceled visits. Experts will assess the condition of the castle. Castillo de Escalona, over 1,000 years old, opened to the public in April 2025.

The causes of the collapse are under investigation, with authorities citing old age and potential structural fatigue.
