Italy: Scenarios for the Attack on Journalist Sigfrido Ranucci

Investigations are underway in Italy regarding the bomb attack against RAI journalist Sigfrido Ranucci. The attack has raised concerns about freedom of the press.

Investigations are focusing on possible connections with hooligans, organized crime and political power, as well as the Calabrian mafia, the 'Ndrangheta, especially in relation to reports on wind energy. The possible involvement of the Albanian mafia is also being examined, following reports on migrant detention centers in Albania.

Today, a solidarity rally for the journalist is scheduled to take place in Piazza Santi Apostoli in Rome, with the slogan 'Long live the freedom of the press'.
