Italy Plans to Establish a 'Reserve Military Force'

Italy is planning to create a 'volunteer reserve force,' according to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. The minister stated that this force will consist of citizens with specialized knowledge in areas such as cybersecurity, digital technologies, space, and artificial intelligence.
Guido Crosetto emphasized that the creation of this force is not intended to replace professional military personnel, but to build a bridge between the armed forces and society, strengthening defense and security culture. According to Italian media, the reserve force will initially consist of approximately ten thousand men and women.
