Italy: Bus Driver Dies After Fan Attack Following Basketball Game

A 65-year-old bus driver, Raffaele Marianella, has died in Italy following an attack by fans. The bus was carrying fans of the Pistoia basketball team after their game against Rieti.
According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the attack occurred on the A2 highway, near Rieti. A brick was thrown at the bus, hitting Marianella, who was sitting in the co-driver's seat. Raffaele Marianella worked for the transportation company Jimmy Travel.
The Italian Minister of Sports, Andrea Abodi, expressed his sorrow over the incident. The prosecutor of Rieti, Paolo Avriema, has launched an investigation for intentional homicide.
Police have questioned several Rieti fans, but no perpetrators have been identified so far.
