Curse and Accident: Death of African Tribe's Self-Proclaimed King
Share on:

A self-proclaimed king of an African tribe, Kofi Offeh, also known as King Atehene, allegedly cursed a woman, A’liya Johnson, shortly before his death in a car accident. Johnson, a former 'servant' of the tribe, died a few months later in a bus accident in Oklahoma City, USA.

Offeh, from Ghana, and Jean Gasho from Zimbabwe, who calls herself Queen Nandi, claim to lead a lost African dynasty and had been camping in a forest in Jedburgh, Scotland. Johnson had joined the tribe in March 2023 but left a few months later, calling the tribe a 'delusion'.

In a released video, Offeh cursed Johnson 'to cry until she dies' when she demanded to leave the 'Kingdom of Kubala'. Following Johnson's death, concerns are being raised about the safety of her successor, a 21-year-old American named Kaura Taylor, who has been reported missing by her family.

The 'royal' couple has been ordered to evict the site they are camping on but refuses to comply with the court's decision.
