A major wildfire in southern France has burned over 12,000 hectares of vegetation across fifteen communities. The fire has claimed one life, with nine people injured and one missing.
Local government official Lucie Roos stated that the fire remains very active due to drought, heat, and strong winds. Prime Minister François Bayrou and Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau are expected to visit the area.
In the village of Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, near Carcassonne, a sixty-year-old woman was found dead in her home, while one resident is missing. Nine people have been injured, one seriously.
