Kenya: 16 Dead in Anti-Government Protests

The death toll in anti-government protests in Kenya has risen to 16, with most allegedly killed by police, according to the local branch of Amnesty International.
"There are 16 verified deaths," Irungu Houghton, executive director of the NGO, told Reuters. The data was confirmed by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, which is funded by the government.
"Most were killed by the police," Houghton added, saying that at least five of the victims were shot.
